Pedigree:
This modern, athletic stallion, the last son of Onassis *E*, was approved by the American Trakehner Association at the age of 2. The Inspection Committee Chairman said, “This athleticism is what we should be breeding for.” Helen Gurley said of him, “He should be in Europe to show them what we’re producing here.” Tatendrang is a stand-out performance horse. He was started under saddle at age 4 and, as a 5-year old, competed in both dressage and eventing, garnering many awards during his first year of competition. He was ATA Horse of the Year for 4- and 5-year old Geldings/Stallions in Materiale, receiving an 80.9 at Conyers, GA and ending the year ranked 3rd in the nation with the USDF. He was also USDF Southeast Region Grand Champion for Dressage Breeding Stallions, ending the year ranked 4th in the nation with USDF in that category, and again being named ATA Horse of the Year. He also began competing in Open Dressage at First Level, while his eventing career rapidly advanced from Novice to Training Level in that same time. In 2012, as a 6-year old, he was competing at Second Level in dressage and Preliminary Level in eventing. He won the Open Prelim class at Poplar Place, GA in May 2012, then went on to qualify for the 2012 American Eventing Championships at both Training and Preliminary levels, and every year thereafter through Intermediate. His career as an Eventer progressed rapidly to Advanced after major FEI competition wins at Red Hills International and Chattahoochee Hills International. He earned his Performance Silver in Eventing, and was approved by the Trakehner Verband for his performance results. He has also been approved for breeding with five other warmblood registries and is Erkend with the KWPN registry. He earned the US Eventing Association silver medal at Training and Preliminary levels. He is an ATA Caesar Memorial Cup winner, which is awarded to the Trakehner stallion with the year’s highest score in combined training. He is retired from Eventing due to a competition injury, but is still being ridden in Dressage. His foals are known for their excellent conformation and gaits, friendly and easy temperament, their work ethic, and being easy to train. Tate is homozygous bay and will not produce a chestnut.
