Herzensdieb was the 2005 Trakehner Verband licensing champion stallion with the statement being said that “this stallion is not just moving but dancing.” Breeding Manager, Lars Gehermann, added: “Endowed with the aura of something special, this stallion embodies the classical Trakehner upgrader type.” As a 3-year-old, he qualified to compete at the the 2006 Bundeschampionat. He was the Reserve Champion of his 70-Day Testing with 133.56 dressage; 111.90 jumping, and an overall score of 127.78. He won the cross country with 9.5 and received a 9.0 for trot, 9.5 for canter, and 8.5 for walk. Herzensdieb again qualified for the Budeschampionat as a 6-year-old and has been trained in dressage through the Advanced Level. He is approved with Hanoverian, Swedish, Danish Verbands and American Rhineland Society. In 2013, the Trakehner Verband awarded him Elite Hengst status based on the performance of his offspring as well as his own. As a breeding stallion, Herzensdieb is an improver of type with amazing rideability. Herzensdieb has an FN breeding value for dressage of 142 with a security of 94% placing him in the top 10% of German Dressage Sires. Many daughters including Heartbreaker and Helmi have won honors at large mare shows throughout Germany. Daughter, Elfenzauber, qualified for the Bundeschampionat for 6-year-old dressage horses. He has two licensed sons,Laxdoyen and Herzenswunsch who was 2012 Champion of Southern Germany, Horse of the Year in Berlin-Brandenburg and a multiple Bundeschampionat finalist. Hollywood is competing successfully at the M** Level with rider/trainer Helen Langenhanenberg. In the U.S., Hannigan L was the 2016 USDF Dressage Horse of the Year Reserve Champion at Second Level (74.086) and 2016 USDF Finals Second Level Open Champion (70.163). Hannigan L returned in 2017 to be named the Second Level Open Champion at the USDF Finals (70.163). Owner Louise Leatherdale has been honored twice as USDF Dressage Breeder of the Year, 2016 and 2017.
