At the Trakehner stallion licensing in Neumünster, Germany, Rusticus was said to be “fascinating to watch at liberty and over jumps”. He received the “Best Anglo Trakehner” prize of the event, as the best half-blood stallion of the entire crop.
Bred for eventing, Rusticus is by the great international Grand Prix show jumper Favoritas xx. Under Nina Braaten, Favoritas xx placed and won at numerous prestigious European Grand Prixs, won the Norwegian National Championships twice, and represented this country at Nations Cups. Through Rusticus sire, the two leading sport horse sires of the East, Raufbold xx and Faktotum xx, appear several times in his pedigree. These lines have been represented at the Olympic and WEG level in several disciplines, e.g. in Rusty/Ulla Salzgeber (WEG and Olympic Champion in dressage), the international show jumper stallion Golden Joy, the world class sire Pogremok xx (an advanced level show jumper and eventer himself) and his son, international Grand Prix dressage stallion Gabun, and many others. Faktotum xx was a member of the highly important Magnat xx stallion line, which in the Trakehner breed produced the impeccable performance family of Patricius xx (Van Deyk – international Grand Prix dressage, Polarion – international Grand Prix dressage, Grafenstolz TSF – CCI*** eventing stallion and FEI World Champion in Lion d Angers, as well as the two full brothers Kaiserkult TSF and Kaiserdom TSF – both accomplished international Grand Prix dressage stallions. Most notably, Rusticus paternal pedigree resembles that of the currently best Trakehner show jumper producer in the world, the Russian-bred Nation’s Cup and Grand Prix show jumper with Germanys Holger Hetzel. Over 75% of his offspring are successful, registered competition horses in Germany – most certainly an amazing record! Experts attribute this feat in no small parts to the accumulation of Raufbold xx blood in this pedigree! And Raufbold xx was a pillar in yet another exceptional stallions pedigree – Beg xx, the only TB stallion with an Elite title in the Trakehner breed, is the sire of international show jumpers and event horses. |
