Pajou was approved by the ATA in 1989 and stood for most of his life at Rolling Oaks Farm in Illinois. He was purchased by the Cornelisons as a yearling from the Barton Farm. Pajou is the first approved son of Avignon ll. His dam, Piazza by Marengo from the Perea mare line, going directly back to the main stud farm of Trakehnen. Piazza was awarded the Silver Medal from the German Riding Federation and State Premium Mare status. Pajou briefly stood at Zenda Farrell's farm from early 2012 until his death in August of 2012. ATA Inspection comments by Dr. Senckenberg: "A black stallion of the elegant riding horse type with large frame, typey exterior and a very beautiful face with large eyes; still somewhat narrow in the body; correctly placed legs; lightfooted movement with good uphill tendency, a bit hurried in the walk"
