Approved at the 1973 Neumünster inspections, Sigurd stood in Germany for his breeder H. Haasler until May of 1977 when he was imported to the United States. From 1978 to 1981 he stood at The Knoll Farm in New York. From 1982 to 1985 he stood in Texas. In 1986 he moved to California to stand at the Hunter's Moonlight Farm until some time in 1997. In 1991 Sigurd became only the third known case of successful cardiac pacemaker implantation in a horse. He continued to impregnate mares in the years that followed. Comments from German Trakehner Stallion Book: Great lines, strength, chiseled features, are the most pronounced characteristics of this chestnut stallion who covers a great deal of ground in a very far-reaching trot, good walk and canter.
