Approved by the American Trakehner Association as one of only a handful of “Premium” stallions, he was the highest scoring stallion at the 1998 CSHA stallion inspection in Markham, ON. HiltonGS completed his performance requirements for full approval as a licensed breeding stallion (for both the ATA and the CSHA) placing 4th at Training level, in his first ever eventing competition! In the year 2003, Hilton had an impressive debut as a dressage stallion, being named Grand Champion – 2nd Level – at the York Equestrian Center in August and then was trained up through Prix St. Georges. HILTON GS is a son of the international 3-Day Event horse BUKEPHALOS. Bukephalos was fourth at the German national 3-Day Event Championships in 1990, qualifying him for the European Championships held in Burghley, England. BUKEPHALOS is out of the Irish Thoroughbred, BALLYVERGIN LADY, dam of eight winning steeplechasers in Ireland. BUKEPHALOS is also the sire of LADY BUKE, 1996 winner of both the Governor General’s and Lieutenant Governor’s Cup classes for three-year-olds at the Royal Winter Fair. Hilton’s dam, HAITI *E*, is an Elite daughter of the 1987 Pan-Am 3-Day Event Bronze Medal winner AMIEGO *Ps*E*, who is a son of the legendary mare ABIZ *E*A. His granddam, HEIMISCHE *E* is the dam of the approved ATA & CSHA stallion HÄNSEL. Hilton is a full brother to the 2002 USAEF Amateur/Owner Hunter Horse of the Year, Storyteller (Heinzelmann *Pg*). HILTON’s pedigree overflows with world class quality and combines the bloodlines of the best sires and dams in the sport horse world. Inspection comments: A substantial and strongly built stallion at full maturity. Masculine and alert with good Trakehner type. Great depth of body at girth and loin with a large frame. Good top line with harmony and balance and an excellent coupling. Strong foundation with large well-formed joints and excellent hooves. Good pelvic, shoulder and leg angles. Right foreleg slightly offset. Ground-covering strides with good impulsion and good use of back at all gaits. Agile, supple, athletic and shows good attitude for jumping with great power and scope. Should be valuable for mares needing strength in foundation and frame as well as those that need improvement in movement. (Brad Kerbs)
