BACK to Stallion List

Idol was approved in Germany in 1970. He remained at stud in Germany a short time before being sold to Holland. While in Holland he was trained to M Level dressage and used at stud under the name Jagermeester. During the fall of 1981 Idol was imported to the United States by Hamilton Farm. In 1982, under rider Meg Plum he qualified for the World Dressage Championships selection trials; however, because of medications he was given during a bout with coli, he was unable to compete for a spot on the USET. He stood at Hamilton Farms until his death in 1985. Cpmments after Stallion Performance Test: Walk, trot and canter very good, rideability good to very good; cross-country tests very good; jumping aptitude good. Temperament and character good. Highly talented riding horse with good willingness to work for all purposes. A stallion defined well and plastically in all parts with strong muscles. Expressive face, good riding neck, agile movements.
