ARISTOKRAT bred by the late Ursula Liakos, was approved for breeding in 1995 at the inspection in Del Mar, California. When Aristokrat was born, Ursula was quoted as saying, "This will be our stallion." When she was asked by the German visitors at the inspection if he was her best colt, she said, "By no means, but what he has more than anyone before him is the interior of his sire." He was approved after an eventful inspection which included a loose shoe during the at-liberty phase (pulied by our Founding Member, the late Terry Williams, who was also a farrier among his many talents), a broken bridle during the veterinary exam which led to a merry chase around the fairgrounds, and then, happily, a successful capture, presentation and an approved stallion! The first North American approved son of TEMPELRITTER (Condus *E* - Goldgrafl, Aristokrat was out of ARNIKA X, whose dam was ARWETTA by the great performance producer HABICHT (sire of Olympic eventer WINDFALL*Pg* among others). Hans Joachim Scharffetter Tiakehner Verband representative at the inspection, commented that this dam line had produced four approved stallions through 1995. According to an article in Sankt Georg magazine by Erhard Schulte, Arwettas dam, ARWA, and another mare, FLOCKE, both by Gabriel, "were the most potent mares in post-war Germany." Sadly, due to Ursulas untimely death in December of 1997, Aristokrat never bred any mares. He lived out his life under the loving care of Ursulas husband, George, and died at age 14 in 2006.
