Morgenstrahl was approved at Neumünster in 1977. He was then imported to North America to stand at Chestnut Lawn Trakehner Farm in Virginia for the 1978 and 1979 breeding seasons, after which he was returned to Germany in February of 1980. He was performance tested at Klosterhof Medingen where he finished 38th out of 41. Comments from German Trakehner Stallion Book: Good stallion type, much frame and caliber; correct from head to tail; average mover.
