History:

Peron was approved in 1986 at Neumünster and then was imported to Canada by Guenter Bertelmann to stand at Ahrensberg Trakehner Horse Farms until 1988.   He moved to Wonderland Farms in Pennsylvania for the 1988 breeding season.   Then in 1989 he moved to Georgia and remained at stud for owner Carol Meyer-Webster through 1993.  He was not actively bred for a few years to concentrate on training and competition in Germany.  While in Germany he and his American rider Michelle Gibson were trained by Rudolf Zeilinger, they enjoyed considerable success on the international dressage circuit before returning to the U.S. for the 1996 Olympics.   After securing a Team Dressage Bronze Medal he was returned to active stud duty.   In 1998 he returned to Germany and was then competed successfully under rider Ann Kathrin Ehlen, a student of Zeilinger.  Sometime in 1998 Meyer-Webster sold the stallion to Hermann Trosscher who briefly retired Peron from competition and intended to use him solely for breeding.  In 1999 he was re-introduced to competition and was doing very well with a new rider when he died suddenly of an allergic reaction to an antibiotic injection while at a show.
