History:
Espresso was imported by Robin Koenig prior to his ATA approval in October of 1993. He remained at Koenig's Middleburg Equestrian Center in Virginia until sometime in 1995 when he was purchased by Jorge Carnicero. He became the property of his final owner Ashley Hodges sometime in 1996. Trained by Kitty Barker of Middleburg, VA, he competed very successfully in the Green, Working and Amateur-Owner Hunter divisions until his unfortunate death due to colic in the spring of 1998. Because of his heavy show schedule he left behind only a few offspring.
Comments by Dr. Senckenberg at time of ATA inspection:
Typey in appearance and conformation with significant depth in his body and distinct, closed top line. Equipped with broad and strongly muscled hindquarters, the stallion is able to move with agility and activity from the hind legs, with much action and freedom in the shoulders.
1996 - ATA Grand Champion - Hunters
1996 - ATA Champion - First-Year Green Hunters
1997 - ATA Grand Champion - Hunters
1997 - ATA Champion - Second-Year Green Hunters
