Dorothy's Ruby Slippers, or Ruby as she is known around the barn, is a petite and refined filly. She was a twin while in utero (the other embryo was absorbed by day 90) and her size may be affected by the twinning. Her dam, Devotion, is 16.0 hh and her sire, Tanzeln, is 16.3 hh so we are expecting her to mature between the 15.3 - 16.1 hh range. She is eligible for OSB inspection with the American Trakehner Association as a 3 year old.

Ruby's dam is the Anglo Trakehner, Devotion. Devotion was inspected by the American Trakehner Association in October 2007 as a 17 year old mare and was approved into the PSB with the score of 49, with 7's for all marks. Devotion is by the great Trakehner stallion, Hailo, who was number 3 in the nation in 2007 for dressage producing stallions. Hailo has competed successfully to Grand Prix. Devotion herself was schooled through 3rd Level dressage before being retired to the breeding shed.

Ruby's sire is the Premium stallion, Tanzeln. Tanzeln competed successfully through 3rd Level dressage until a recent injury. Tanzeln combines the great dressage and sport horse lines of Enrico Caruso and Pregelstrand.

Both the sire and the dam's bloodlines are known for their rideability, work ethics, and trainability. We expect for Ruby to be able to excel in either the dressage ring or the hunter ring. She has three good, correct gaits, a good temperament, and is quick to learn. She is halter broke, leads, ties, and will stand for the farrier. She is up to date on all shots, worming, farrier work, etc. Ruby is lifetime registered with the USDF, USEF, and the American Trakehner Association.
