2004: My horse "Marin *M*, OSB-A-M2099, bred by Dr. Mary Contakos and Ms Hilda Gurney, had a very successful competition year at Third level in dressage. She also earned her Model Mare status at the Trakehner Mare testing held at Keenridge Farm, Moorpark, CA, in September, by scoring a 56, the Reserve Champion for the day. We competed across the Southwestern US, in California, Arizona, New Mexico, and Texas. Our string of 18 firsts or seconds throughout the season, ranked us Reserve Champion for USDF Trakehner Open Third Level, USDF Champion Trakehner Third Level Vintage Cup, USDF Trakehner Third Level Musical Freestyle Champion, and USDF (Open) Vintage Cup Reserve Champion. We capped our year with two Championships at the USDF/GAIG Region 5 Championship Show in Scottsdale, AZ, in Nov. 2004. Marin was Third Level Musical Freestyle Champion with a combined score of 68.542%, and Third Level Open Champion with a combined score of 67.000%. Marin also acquired the needed tests/scores for her Performance Bronze rating this year. As her lucky owner/rider, I must admit I'm still amazed and thrilled every time I ride her, she is a remarkable horse.
